What is the difference between bellows gate valve and ordinary gate valve?
Sep. 09, 2024
The difference between bellows gate valve and ordinary gate valve is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. Structural design:
The bellows gate valve is a bellows structure added to the ordinary gate valve. The bellows is a special metal pipe with high elasticity and flexibility. The control of the fluid is achieved through the curling and expansion of the bellows. The ordinary gate valve adopts the traditional valve structure to control the fluid by the up and down movement of the gate.
2. Sealing performance:
The bellows gate valve adopts the seal between the bellows and the valve body to effectively prevent leakage. When the ordinary gate valve is closed, the sealing performance between the valve and the valve seat is relatively poor, and leakage is prone to occur.

3. Scope of use:
Because of its good sealing and expansion performance, the bellows gate valve is suitable for high temperature, high pressure, strong corrosive media and other working conditions. The scope of use of ordinary gate valves is relatively narrow, suitable for fluid control under general working conditions.
4. Service life:
Because the bellows gate valve has less friction and wear during movement than ordinary gate valves, its service life is longer.
In summary, the bellows seal gate valve has better sealing performance, wider application range and longer service life than ordinary gate valves. However, due to its complex structure, the cost is relatively high. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the specific working conditions and economic considerations when choosing.
