Rod seals

The seal comprises a rubberised fabric U ring to give strength and durability, to which is moulded a rubber header. It is designed to have a controlled pre-load across the angled rubber lips which are accurately trimmed, to ensure a good seal at low pressure.

The Hallite 16 single-acting rod seal design, with a filled PTFE face ring, provides the designer with a compact, low friction seal for light to medium duty hydraulic cylinders. It has been superseded as a product group.

The Hallite 601 high-performance, general purpose, single-acting U-ring rod or piston seal is designed to provide a dry sealing solution in light and medium-duty applications and manufactured in Hythane® 181, Hallite’s high-performance polyurethane, for easy installation and excellent low temperature performance.

This asymmetric rod seal is designed with precision trimmed sealing lips to provide a dry sealing solution in light and medium-duty applications. The seal can be considered for use in heavy-duty applications when used with a suitable full depth back-up ring. The sealing lips are precision trimmed at an angle to give optimal rod sealing performance.

The Hallite 610 is an asymmetric, solid twin lip rod seal designed to provide a dry sealing solution in light and medium-duty applications and manufactured in Hythane® 181, Hallite’s high-performance polyurethane, for easy installation and excellent low temperature performance.

Hallite’s 616 is a compact, asymmetric twin lip rod seal offering excellent dry rod sealing for light and medium-duty applications where space and friction are at a premium. The seal is manufactured in Hythane® 181, Hallite’s high-performance polyurethane, for easy installation and excellent low temperature performance.

The Hallite 617 ‘Multilip’ seal is an asymmetric rod seal specifically developed to meet the requirements of ISO 6020-2 160 bar compact cylinders. The housing sizes confirm to those given for such cylinders in ISO 5597.

The Hallite 620 is a twin lip rod seal designed with precision trimmed sealing lips to provide a dry sealing solution in light and medium-duty application. The seal is manufactured in a polyurethane shell energized by a high quality O-ring. The sealing lips are trimmed at an angle to give optimal rod sealing performance.

The Hallite 621 is designed to provide a dry sealing solution in heavy-duty applications. The secondary sealing lip located behind the primary sealing lip improves stability of the seal in the gland. The unique profile of the NBR energiser ensures the precision trimmed primary sealing lips maintain contact under low or no pressure situations while ensuring proper sealing at higher pressures.

The Hallite 622 is a top-of-the-range twin lip rod seal designed to provide a dry sealing solution in light and medium-duty applications.

The Hallite 652 is a rod seal designed designed to provide a dry sealing solution specifically for heavy-duty longwall mining applications using water-based fluids. The design is also suitable for standard hydraulic oil applications.

The Hallite 658 is designed to replace an O-ring and one backup sealing arrangement and offer a much higher level of sealing performance and durability without having to change the seal groove.

The Hallite 663 is an asymmetric, single lip U-ring rod seal designed to provide a dry sealing solution in light and medium-duty applications and manufactured in Hythane® 181, Hallite’s high-performance polyurethane, for easy installation and excellent low temperature performance.

The Hallite 673 is an asymmetric, single lip U-ring rod seal designed to provide a dry sealing solution in light and medium-duty applications. The seal can be considered for use in heavy-duty applications when used with a suitable full depth back-up ring.

This seal is typically made out of our high-quality Hythane® materials combined with an elastomer energizer design optimized for superior performance.

The Hallite 716SPN can be used as a single rod seal or incorporated into a rod sealing system as the secondary seal.
