Professional Machine & Tool Installs Two SAMSUNG SL20BMC CNC 3-axis Lathes

Professional Machine & Tool, Valley Center, Kansas, has recently installed two SAMSUNG SL20BMC CNC 3-axis lathes. The firm, which traces its roots back 68 years, offers precision milling, turning, forming, grinding and hon- ing as well as subassemblies and assemblies. It serves the aerospace, defense, medical and commercial industries.

The new SAMSUNGs, purchased from Kansas-Oklahoma Machine Tool (KOMT), were needed to add capabilities, increase productivity and reduce setups. “The SAMSUNGs have met our expectations and KOMT has provided good service,” stated Clint Price, general manager and 25-year company veteran. He noted that the conversational Fanuc programming, live tooling and cost effectiveness were important factors in choosing the SL20BMCs.

Professional Machine & Tool is ISO and AS9100 certified. Its crew of 11 (average tenure of 15 years) works with aluminum, steel, stainless and titanium and operate in a 16,500-sq.-ft. building. Its 12 pieces of CNC equipment and numerous conventional machines can machine parts up to 60″ x 30″ x 24″ and turn parts up to 10″ in diameter by 20″ in length.

“We are known for taking on test and prototype projects,” commented Price. “We focus on being adaptable and providing good customer service . Most of our production is with smaller runs with the ability to take on the high production orders also.”
