I have a Central Machinery snow thrower 90723 from Harbor Freight. I need the rubber wheel assemble that makes the wheels turn, does anyone know where I can buy this part?

I have the same model. I do not believe that Harbor Freight sells these anymore. I needed some replacement parts a several years back and it took almost a year to get them.

I am looking or parts now as well. The auger jammed and broke the auger worm gear and the auger drive housing - I can't figure out why the shear pins did not do their job properly!

Good luck in your search - I will reply if I find anything more

I found a roughly similar unit on www.partstree.com.
As my snow thrower is a "clone", I could not find an exact match, but the "White Outdoor 31AE653F190 Snow Boss 950 (1998)" and the "MTD 31A-614E205 (2003)" appear to be close.

I ordered the White Outdoor 918-0415B (replaces 618-0121)
Gear Assembly 26" from their website, and it is being shipped today. I expect to receive it mid-week.

I will inspect to determine if it is a match to replace my Auger Gear Assembly. I also ordered some shear bolts. I had already replaced the non-shear bolts that came with the unit (not safe) with shear pins, but they did not shear.

I will post my results.

Update:

Just received the 918-0415B Gear Assembly 26" from www.partstree.com.

Good News: It appears to be the correct auger gear assembly.
Bad News: The spline end of the worm shaft is different, as is the thread for the screw at the spline end.

Next step:
I just ordered the "948-0360 Pulley, Adapter" and the "710-0157 Screw"

I will update again next week when all the parts are in and I can re-assemble (hopefully!).

Well, parts arrived today and I rebuilt the machine.

The only issue I see is that the spline end of the auger worm shaft could be about a 1/2 inch longer into the adapter pulley.

It is snowing right now - supposed to get about 6 inches, so I will see if it works tomorrow morning.

The beast is back!

The snow thrower worked great this morning through about 6 inches of snow.

Spent a bit more than I had hoped, but it is working again.

I have the same Central Machinery, Model 90723 and am looking for an auger flat idler pulley. This is the pulley that tightens the belt when the auger handle is pulled down. The dimensions are: inside diameter is 2&3/16"; outside diamter is 2&3/4"; center bearing hole is 8mm; and pulley width is 1&5/8". Would buy 2 or 3 of these and the same with the other pulley that is in the same housing area. I would also buy a parts manual and a owners manual. Help! Tom Morgan, <phone> (c) or <email>

Parts are discontinued from HarborFreight. I had an order in for belts/pulleys etc that i waited 10weeks for...then someone stole the package from my doorstep when it was delivered. HarborFreight went to re-order the parts and all were discontinued! Bummer...

I have a PDF of the Manual and Briggs Intek engine. Provide an e-mail address and I will shoot it your way.

Here is a site with universal pulleys http://www.discountonlineparts.com/lawnmower/?c=Pulleys&sc=Flat%20Idler%20Pulleys&b=Universal

As mentioned in an earlier post, the Central Machinery snow thrower 90723 from Harbor Freight is a clone (knock-off).

The closest match I could find was the White Outdoor 31AE653F190 Snow Boss 950 (1998)" and the "MTD 31A-614E205 (2003)", although both appear to have been built by MTD.

In my case, the Auger Gear Assembly Housing and the Auger Worm Gear were shattered. I bought the following:
918-0415B Gear Assembly 26
Upon receipt, I found the parts were slightly different, specifically the splines and internal threads (SAE vs Metric). I then purchased:
948-0360 Pulley, Adapter
710-0157 Screw
This was not a perfect fit (would have liked the worm shaft to be a bit longer), but it did work.

As for the Flat Idler, if you get 756-0178 Idler, Flat, I also recommend getting the associated bolt and nut(SAE vs Metric).

Good luck

I just finished repairing my harborfreight snowblower.Could not find gear so I replaced direct gear to wheel shaft with indirect sprocket gear,32 teeth, approximatly 6.25.Removed small gear on other shaft and replaced small gear,10 teeth, with small spocket gear that can accomodate a gear griven chain. Unit is now indirect chain driven, only problem is reverse and foward speeds are opposite.Bought gears from long island transmission[Farmingdale},ask for Mr.Long.

I'm in the same boat as all of you. I bought mine new and saved $250 over other brands, and am regretting it ever since. I need cables, but they don't match up to the models referenced. 3 years ago I wasted MANY hours searching for new belts that fit correctly.
What a nightmare this has been. It wouldn't be bad if it broke when it was 60 degrees outside but that's NEVER the case.
