It works and works well. But to change belts you have almost take it completely apart, no quick change possible. The disk is stick on discs, to change one the table has to come off, and the lower shroud also has to come off, I put a hook and loop sticky on the machine so I could use hook and loop discs and left the lower shroud off. Be sure when you mount the guide guard on the belt that you square it up with the belt, it is adjustable for some strange reason.

When I first plugged it in, the belt would not rotate. (It didn't work!) Manually turning the belt finally got it going. After turning it off and on a few times it now seems to be operating normally. For how long, is the question.

I wouldn't call this a heavy duty tool, more of a homeowner tool. It works very well, and it's worth the money. I've sharpened 3 mower blades that were pretty dull, with the 80 grit belt. It did a fine job. I sharpened some scissors with a finer grit belt, and again it worked well. The motor had adequate power while running, but seems a bit weak on starting torque. I was able to stall the belt with a wood block and some effort: the motor kept running while the belt slipped. Tightening the belt would cure that, but the motor may have difficulty starting. I'm happy with it as is, since it gets plenty of power to the belt. I didn't even mount the disc sander, no use for it. The guide is pretty flimsy, and the table is so-so. Seven screws have to be removed to change the sanding belt, unless you leave the back cover off. Minor point, unless you change the belt often, as I do. Still, overall, it's a good machine and well worth the price.Read full review

Very happy with vendor sale. Was delivered quickly and buying procedure very smooth. Am a little concerned with power issue. I have not used a lot and maybe this will not be an issue. Other than that this is what I was looking for.

This does work pretty well. You do have to have some mechanical ability to put it together. But on a scale of difficulty of 1 to 10 i would give it a 5. Its easy enough to use. First project was an ebony knife handle it worked fine and ebony is pretty hard.I woul reccommend this to anyone who needs a bench grinder
